MC Offers Scholarship Opportunity for Students Displaced by Birmingham Southern Closure

³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø leadership is helping to give clarity and peace of mind to undergraduate students at Birmingham Southern College by offering a scholarship to those who transfer to the Christian University at the end of the spring term.

In an open letter to students at the private Alabama university that will close its doors May 31 after 168 years of continuous operation, MC President Blake Thompson extended an invitation for qualified students to apply for a $13,500 transfer scholarship for each eligible year of study to attend ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø.

Several program-specific scholarship opportunities at MC – including the recently added Thrive Scholarship, part of the University’s ongoing effort to support the next  generation of professionals – are also available to students in Birmingham Southern’s graduate programs.

“Similar institutions whose primary purpose is to serve students feel the weight of your circumstances, and we want to help,” Thompson wrote. “On behalf of the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø family, I invite you to consider MC, and I encourage you to visit our campus in Clinton.”

In addition to strong academic programs, MC offers many of the same opportunities and advantages students at Birmingham Southern College have enjoyed, including a small, family-like atmosphere and a faith-based college experience.
